Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot.
2. Turn your cap straight, your head isn’t crooked.
3. Let’s get this straight; it’s called a ‘dirt road.’ I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you’re going to get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way.
4. They are cattle. They’re live steaks. That’s why they smell funny to you. But they smell like money to us. Get over it. Don’t like it? Hwy 7 & 401 goes east and west, Hwy 15 & 416 goes north and south. Pick one.
5. So you have a $60,000 car. We’re impressed. We have $150,000 combines and hay balers that are driven only 3 weeks a year.
6. So every person in rural Ontario waves. It’s called ‘being friendly. Try to understand the concept.
7. If that cell phone rings while an 8-point buck and 3 does are coming in, we WILL shoot it out of your hand. You better hope you don’t have it up to your ear at the time.
8. Yeah, we eat meat and potatoes. You really want sushi & caviar? It’s available at the corner bait shop.
9. The ‘Opener’ refers to the first day of deer hunting season. It’s a religious holiday held the closest Saturday to the first of November.
10. We open doors for women. That is applied to all women, regardless of age.
11. There’s little for ‘vegetarians’ on the menu. Order steak. Or you can order the Chef’s Salad and pick off the 2 pounds of ham & turkey.
12. When we set a table, there are three main dishes: meats, vegetables and breads. We use three spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup.
13. You bring ‘coke’ into my house, it better be brown, wet and served over ice.
14. You bring ‘Mary Jane’ into my house, she better be cute, know how to shoot, drive a truck, and have long hair.
15. Ontario Hockey League and Minor Hockey is as important here as the Maple Leafs and Montreal Habs, and more fun to watch.
16. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don’t hit the water hazards — it spooks the fish.
17. Colleges? We have them all over. We have Universities and Community Colleges. They come out of there with an education plus a love for God and country, and they still wave at everybody when they come for the holidays.
18. We have a whole ton of folks in the Armed Forces. So don’t mess with us. If you do, you will get whipped by the best.
19. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump crap isn’t music, anyway. We don’t want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxers. (Refer back to #1).
20. TWO inches of snow & ice isn’t a blizzard - it’s a vacation. Drive in it like you have some sense, and DON’T take all our bread, milk, and bleach from the grocery stores. This isn’t Alaska, worst case you may have to live a whole day without croissants. The pickups with snow blades and tractors with snow blowers will have you out the next day.
21. Keep your politically correct crap to yourself.
H/T

LPC 'in and out' fund raising

The LPC continues to raise funds for its Leadership 'non race', in what appears to be a scheme for an 'in and out' transfer of money to the LPC that effectively raises the yearly personal contribution limit by $1,100.

Liberal.ca

2009 Leadership Candidate Donations

To make a contribution to support a Liberal Party of Canada Leadership contestant please click their name below.

Michael Ignatieff

Bob Rae

Michael Ignatieff

Thank you for considering a donation to Michael’s Leadership Campaign. We need your financial contribution to make Michael's campaign possible. Michael is committed to running a campaign that is financed by a broad-base of Canadians contributing small amounts. But to run around screaming "the sky is falling ... the sky is falling ... run to the cave .., run to the cave", and speak of terms of a depression, I am telling you to give your head a shake.

Current unemployment figures are up in this recession as expected, up to 7% of employable people, and the fact is that women were not included in the unemployment figures of the Great Depression of 1929-1939 where unemployment of the labour force (mostly men) was at 30%. By today's standards of equality, men and women are equally employable, and based upon the Great Depression standard of measuring unemployment, today's rate of unemployment would be 3.5% or conversely depression rates would be 60% unemployment. From an optimists point of view 93% of Canadians are employed today in a tough economic time.

I am sorry, Chicken Little's, the sky is not falling, and we are not in a depression, and yes the end is near ... the end of low stock prices ... and the end of the recession ... pessimism is doomed.

Liberals Breaking Rank

Professor Iggy will "allow" his Newfoundland MP's to break rank and vote against the budget "one time", thus once again begins the Liberal hand sitting in Dion fashion. Not to long ago he was slamming the Conservative government for not ratifying the Liberal Kyoto deal of which Prime Minister Harper had said would require such drastic energy cuts it would ruin the Canadian economy. Perhaps Iggy will flip-flop on his illusion of Canada living up to the Liberal Kyoto commitment next.

Where does Iggy now stand on Kyoto after attempting to warm up to the Oil Patch? The last thing we need right now is more Liberals wanting to send our money out of Canada to pay for the 'theory' of Global Warming.

Could Iggy be playing the Liberal bait and switch pre-election plan, like Liberal Red book promise of eliminating the GST?

Just last year Iggy wrote on visiting the oil sands, " I haven't seen anything more exciting or more troubling in my travels this year". As for the shrinking CAW they say they won't accept a ban on Automotive sector strikes like there is in the USA as reported in the Calgary sun today.

The president of the Canadian Auto Workers says his union won’t accept a ban on strikes similar to one detailed in the U.S. as a condition of US$17.4 billion in loans to Chrysler and General Motors. Conservative leader Arthur Meighen formed a minority government that was supported by the house for 4 critical votes. On the fifth vote the Government was defeated and an election was called.

The Liberals, NDP and Bloc did not take the option to to ask GG for them form the government at the dissolution of the 39th parliament, or at the formation of the 40th parliament.

In the case of the current 40th parliament the throne speech was given and supported by the house, affirming the Conservatives as the Official Government of Canada, and the confidence was given immediately after the reading of the fiscal update.
